Can AI Truly Replace Your Job? 🫨 {The Virtual PM Newsletter}

Hey Reader,

I think we can all agree—AI is changing the game, and it's here to stay (for good).

In fact, in a Gartner 2021 survey, 69% of routine tasks typically performed by managers, such as approvals, project management, and reporting, will be fully automated by 2024, changing the nature of leadership and management roles.

Despite this, a report by Forbes suggests that 91% of business leaders agree that while AI will automate many technical and operational tasks, leadership skills such as decision-making, emotional intelligence, and team motivation remain irreplaceable by AI.

It's pretty understandable.

We’re on Zoom calls, automating tasks, and Grammarly feels like our personal writing assistant.

But here’s the thing no one talks about...

AI can do a lot, but it will never be able to replace what makes us humanour ability to lead.

So, while AI can crunch numbers and automate the boring stuff, it’s not handling emotional intelligence, motivating your team, or solving conflicts.

That’s all on you.

If you’re leaning too much on AI and forgetting to sharpen those soft skills, you could be making some major leadership mistakes without even realizing it.

In my latest LinkedIn article, I break down the common leadership mistakes that AI can’t fix, like:

✅ Leaders who confuse giving orders with actually inspiring their team

✅ The dangers of micromanaging (and why delegating feels hard but is crucial)

✅ Why communication is about listening—yes, even for us leaders!

And that’s just scratching the surface.

If you want to know how to avoid these pitfalls and become a leader AI could never replace, check out the infographic I created below.

Keep Your Eyes Peeled... 👀

I’ll also be hosting a series of Lunch and Learn events very very soon where we can discuss these topics in real time.

These will be interactive sessions where we’ll tackle real-world challenges, share experiences, and grow together as leaders.

Steve Jobs and his blind spots

Connect with Donna on LinkedIn | Instagram | Facebook | YouTube Hey Reader, Ever heard of Steve Jobs? Yeah, the guy who revolutionized tech, design, and pretty much how we live our lives today. Yeah you probably know who he is... During the early days of Apple, Steve’s confidence in his vision sometimes caused him to overlook his team’s concerns or misjudge what customers truly needed. Sure, his boldness brought innovation, but it also caused setbacks—because blind spots aren’t just for the...

are you double-minded?

Connect with Donna on LinkedIn | Instagram | Facebook | YouTube Hey Reader, Have you ever felt like you’re stuck between two choices, questioning every decision, and worrying about which way to go? 😵💫 This “double-mindedness” is something we don’t talk about enough in leadership, yet it’s so common—and I’ve been there myself. It’s that feeling of second-guessing, of being unsure if you’re making the right call, and it doesn’t just affect you—it impacts everyone around you. I remember reading...

How to make people fall in love with you

Connect with Donna on LinkedIn | Instagram | Facebook | YouTube Hey Reader, Can I share something a bit personal? 🫣 For the longest time, I thought being a great communicator meant having all the right words, knowing exactly what to say, and basically being the star of every convo. I was that person who, mid-conversation, was already crafting my next brilliant response while the other person was still talking. Is this you too? It wasn’t until someone told me, “You’re such a good listener,”...
